Wife of the president of Mozambique visited Casa Reom!!
Maria Daluz Guebuza, the wife of the president of Mozambique, recently visited Casa Reom at Inhamizua on the 4th November 2007, along with various other government dignitaries. This was a great day for Casa Reom, and for Pastor Bonga and the other staff - they are very pleased that their centre is attracting such attention. Click here to read their email about the visit

November 2007: Visit from a St. Matthew's team
The mission team at St. Matthew's Church in Rugby sent a group of about 9 people out to Casa Reom on the 6th November to stay for at least a week. One of them, Dan Chant, stayed for approximately 3 months to give long term help and support. They gave practical help on the building projects, taught as required, and generally supported the many activities which Casa Reom is involved in. The group was led by Phil Clucas, St. Matthew's Mission's Leader.

September 2007
A team from Rugby visited in August for a week, and another team from Scotland visited for three weeks August/September.

July 2007
An email with various news has been received from Pastor Bonga, click here to read it. A summary of his news is given below.
Six boys have been integrated back into their original families, with help from Casa Reom for their studies. However a further four young boys have joined at Inhamizua, and seven more at the Dondo centre.
The orphanage at Dondo is growing but is also giving further problems e.g. there is a water shortage and sewage problem, they are short of staff and money, and the number of orphans is increasing. Please pray for a boy named Isaiah who was injured when the entrance gate at Dondo fell on him.
Further news
Latrines and showers have been added to the sanitary block at Inhamizua. They are composting latrines which the boys learn to empty and the compost can be used at Nhamatanda to grow crops or even sold.
The wall round the site is now complete round the front and down the sides to the back of the site.
A further plot of land at the back of the site will be bought and is intended for workshops which would have carpentry, electrical and welding facilities.

June 2007

The water pipe is now functional at Inhamizua - and the boys are very happy to be able to get safe drinking water. Plans are being drawn up for a new classroom block, and the foundation has been started.
Casa Reom is now also responsible for a girls orphanage called 'Dondo': they look after girls aged between 0 and 16 years. Currently there are 7 girls there.

New truck bought to replace wrecked one

Thanks to the generousity of supportors in the UK, Casa Reom have been able to replace the wrecked truck with a new truck, and also can afford to insure it. They are very pleased with it, and had a blessing service for it on Sunday 1st April. For more pictures click here

Land rented to grow crops

A large plot of land at Nhamatanda, about 130km from Beira, has been rented in order to grow crops and provide the boys with experience with farming etc.

Casa Reom truck in accident but no-one hurt

The truck used by Casa Reom to transport the boys and produce has been written off in an accident on the highway with a large lorry travelling to Malawi. Praise God but no-one was hurt, however the truck is a write-off. Hopefully insurance should replace it, but it will take a long time to sort out, and in the meantime they are finding it very difficult to transport the boys to/from church, and the produce to/from Nhamatanda.
